Community Clean Up And Shred Event Scheduled At Santee City Hall

Community members can drop off unwanted items such as appliances, mattresses, furniture and tree limbs.

SANTEE, CA — Get rid of unwanted items and shred used paper at the Community Clean Up and Shred Event scheduled Saturday at Santee City Hall.

Community members can drop off unwanted items such as appliances, mattresses, furniture and tree limbs. The event is intended for household waste only, according to the city. People must show proof of residency with a driver's license or utility or Waste Management bill.

Each household is allowed to dispose of up to four items. Shredding is limited to five bankers boxes per household.

Hazardous materials, construction materials and commercial vehicles won't be accepted, according to the city. This includes paints, oil, batteries and household or industrial chemicals, as well as concrete, brick, drywall and roofing material.

The event will take place from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at Santee City Hall at 10601 Magnolia Ave.
