Construction firm fined for money laundering hedges with late contributions to Trotter Campaign
Santee City Council Election Form 460 Candidate Financial Disclosures
TC Construction, one of multiple firms fined for laundering money to two incumbent city council members during the 1998 election, and now a large donor to the M. Herron campaign, is now also a large donor to Dustin Trotter.
The money laundering in 1998 occurred in anticipation of the city council’s upcoming consideration and ultimate vote of approval for the Fanita Ranch project. The 2,998-unit project was then defeated by residents in a landslide referendum vote in 1999.
With development interests anticipating yet another city council vote on a Fanita Ranch development proposal, a similar pattern of questionable contributions is occurring targeted toward two of the three council candidates. Call it the “Second Serving of Developers' Delight" or the "Double Scoop Strategy.”

Form 460 just filed shows four late checks coming from TC Construction personnel. The six other checks D. Trotter accepted were also from development interests. 90% (9/10) of the payments to D. Trotter originated from outside of Santee.
TC Construction made the same exact number of donations, from the exact same people, at the same time to both M. Herron and D. Trotter. All campaign filings can be obtained by request to the Santee City Clerk at PBell@CityofSanteeCa.gov

TC Construction is having trouble picking the winner of this race, so they consider either candidate a winner for building more traffic gridlock producing development. If you pick either of their candidates, the only sure loser is you - as your commute times will increasingly rob your family time.

Follow the $ and the choice is clear. Stephen Houlahan's contributors are over 3/4 Santee residents and Houlahan has not taken any developer dollars. Vote Houlahan!
