Crews Halt Brush Fire Off SR-52 In San Diego

SAN DIEGO, CA — Crews have halted a brush fire off state Route 52 in San Diego, authorities said.
The blaze was reported around 2:45 p.m. Tuesday off westbound SR-52 and Mast Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol's incident log.
Firefighters on the ground and in the air fought the flames, which spread about a quarter of an acre to a half-acre of vegetation, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department. There was a downed power line but no structures were threatened.

Forward progress was stopped by 3:30 p.m., according to the CHP. The third westbound lane remained closed for cleanup.
