Although organizers expect Qualcomm Stadium to be less than half-full, fans are being encouraged to take public transportation or if they do drive, to arrive two or three hours before the Poinsettia Bowl game between Louisiana Tech and Texas Christian kicks off.

The stadium's 14,000-space parking lot is expected to be filled two hours before the 5 p.m. start because of numerous tailgate parties and the halftime show fireworks.

Green Line trolley trains will run every eight minutes from the Old Town Transit Center to Santee from 12:45 p.m. to about 10:10 p.m., according to the Metropolitan Transit System.

A crowd of about 30,000 is expected, according to Mark Neville, the Poinsettia Bowl's associate executive director of the San Diego Bowl Game Association.
