EL CAJON, CA — An El Cajon man who allegedly shot and killed another man in the Grantville neighborhood last month has been arrested in Ohio, police said Wednesday.

Alvin Wilson, 32, is accused in the Sept. 12 shooting of 40-year-old La Mesa resident Jason Twyman, who died three days later in a hospital.

Officers were called at around 1 a.m. Sept. 12 to 5800 Mission Gorge Road, where Twyman was found down in a parking lot with at least one gunshot wound to his upper body, according to Lt. Andra Brown of the San Diego Police Department.

According to the lieutenant, the ensuing investigation revealed that a man in a dark shirt walked up to the victim and shot at him before fleeing westbound out of the parking lot in a dark vehicle. A suspected motive for the killing was not disclosed, nor was the relationship, if any, between Wilson and Twyman.

Wilson was arrested on Sept. 27 by the Ohio Highway Patrol for unrelated charges, Brown said. SDPD homicide investigators, who had developed information that Wilson was the shooting suspect, then traveled to Ohio and arrested him on suspicion of Twyman's murder.
