El Capitan PTSA Receives Donation From Lakeside Jersey Mike's

The El Capitan High School Parent, Teacher, Student Association (PTSA) received a $1,000 donation from the new Lakeside Jersey Mike’s located at 9670 Winter Garden Boulevard. The donation was a part of the new location’s grand opening Spirit Week. The money will be used to help fund senior scholarships, a teacher supply day and other PTSA programs that benefit El Capitan High School families, teachers and students.

“We are incredibly grateful for this very generous donation,” said Teresa Leader-Anderson, president, El Capitan High School PTSA. “Our PTSA runs on funds from memberships and fundraising. With Covid-19 and physical distancing, we cannot do the in-person membership outreach or fundraising that we have done in the past. This donation came at a perfect time to help us maintain our programs for this school year.”

The Jersey Mike’s Lakeside location ran a grand opening Spirit Week promotion donating 20 percent of the sales from customers who mentioned the fundraiser. Unfortunately, the PTSA raised only a little over $200. However, Ray Ibrahim the owner of the new location decide to round up and give the PTSA $1,000.

“We cannot thank him enough for his generosity,” added Leader-Anderson. “This money will be well spent to help the students and families of El Capitan High School.”

The El Capitan High School PTSA is a group of volunteers that supports parents, teachers and students and works to increase communication and parental involvement. Additionally, El Capitan High School PTSA raises funds for senior scholarships, safe grad night activities, Reflections Art Contest, Teacher Supply Day, hospitality at events such as the Freshman BBQ, booster support for parents and much more to make El Capitan a better school for everyone.
