Fire Guts Garage At Lakeside Home

LAKESIDE, CA — Flames tore through a garage at a Lakeside home late Thursday afternoon, wreaking extensive structural damage but causing no reported injuries.

The blaze in the 10400 block of Aquilla Drive was reported about 5:15 p.m., sheriff's Lt. Ted Greenawald said.

It took firefighters about 20 minutes to gain control of the flames, a Heartland Fire & Rescue dispatcher said.

It was not immediately clear if the fire damaged any vehicles or the living quarters of the residence on the property.

The cause of the blaze was under investigation.
