Flame Skimmer Dragonfly At Santee Lakes: Photo Of The Day

SANTEE, CA — Patch reader and local photographer Mark Dreiling captured this photo of a flame skimmer dragonfly at Santee Lakes.

"This is a female flame skimmer dragonfly," said Dreiling, who lives in Santee. "The males are bright red. It spent the day returning to a stick placed on a retaining wall."
