Get Out: Go Camping, Get a Dog and Reggae Out

Your Patch guide to weekend happiness.

After last weekend’s busy schedule of superheroes, science fiction and sandcastles, this final weekend in July is a bit more lax. That’s not to say there isn’t stuff to do—we’ve got plenty of events in town and beyond that will satisfy the down-to-earth and the go-getters.

From July 28-31, Santee’s got some pet adoptions, an outdoor concert and a special summer campout just for teens. Head over to La Mesa for a movie under the stars.

If you’re ready to get out of town, head to Lemon Grove’s gun club has a Friday night shoot and stay away from the weekend heat with some ice skating at a nearby aquatic center. The Del Mar Fairgrounds boasts a Marley this weekend, so you can get your reggae on after the race; or go downtown for some all-day doggie fun. Enjoy these last days of July!
