Authorities Seek To Identify Woman Found Dead Near Creek During Storm

She was found ​unresponsive Jan. 22 in the brush near Forester Creek in Santee, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.

SANTEE, CA — Authorities asked for the public's help Friday in identifying a woman found dead in eastern San Diego County.

The unidentified woman was found unresponsive following heavy rain and flooding during last week's destructive winter storm. She was found Jan. 22 in the brush on the southern border of Forester Creek in Santee, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office. Paramedics were unable to resuscitate the woman and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman was either white or Hispanic and appeared to be between 45 and 55 years old, according to authorities. She was roughly 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighed 229 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair.

Investigators were not able to identify her with fingerprints, officials said. The woman had no clothing or identification. She wore a bracelet engraved with "Mama B" on the front and "4/21/2006" on the back of it. She also had a tattoo on her right leg of a dolphin with wings on it and some hearts.

A forensic sketch artist created a drawing of the woman. Authorities also provided photographs of the woman's jewelry and tattoo.

Anyone who recognizes the woman was asked to contact the Investigations Unit of the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office at 858-694-2905 and reference case number 2024-00240.
