Hit-And-Run Driver Sought After Serious Injury Crash In East County
The driver fled eastbound on West Washington Avenue in El Cajon, police said.
EL CAJON, CA — A motorist was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash in San Diego's East County, authorities said Wednesday.
Two vehicles collided at 10:20 p.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of West Washington Avenue in El Cajon, according to the El Cajon Police Department.
When one of the drivers exited his vehicle to take photos of the damage, he was struck and seriously injured by a separate pickup truck that was traveling eastbound on West Washington, Sgt. Michael Murphy said. He was taken to a hospital.

The driver fled eastbound on Washington and has not been located, Murphy said. Witnesses described the suspect vehicle as a light-colored, possibly white or gray pickup truck, which will have damage to the passenger side, including a missing passenger mirror.
"The investigation is still ongoing, and it is unknown at this time if drugs and/or alcohol are a factor in the collision," Murphy said.
