SANTEE, CA — Shoppers can celebrate women-owned businesses and get an early start on holiday shopping during the Ladies at the Lake Fall Market at Santee Lakes.

The eighth annual event, scheduled Oct. 14, will feature dozens of vendors offering a variety of products, including crafts and other handmade items.

"We are excited to welcome the public to a beautiful, outdoor space to shop and support local businesses," event coordinator Shawna Fakhouri said. "We also want guests to see what a great venue Santee Lakes is for their next event, big or small."

"I think the success comes from having a beautiful venue and a wide variety of vendors," Fakhouri told Patch.

Fakhouri noted that Santee Lakes has an "extensive waitlist" for the event.

"We are very particular in the vendors we choose," she said. "We really try not to have duplicate vendors so the experience is unique."

Participating vendors will offer holiday items, bath and body products, candles, clothing, handbags, jewelry, makeup and skincare, health products, home decor, plants, pottery, stained glass, wall art, woodwork, spices, preserves, crafts and other handmade items.

Food and drink vendors Mr. Shawarma, Pork Belly BBQ, Sopas Tacos and The Rush Coffee Truck will also be at the event.

Ladies at the Lake Fall Market will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 14 at the Lake 1 event area at Santee Lakes at 9310 Fanita Parkway. The event is free, but parking costs $7 per vehicle.
