Man Accused Of Illegal Firearms Manufacturing In East County
Jason Jefferson, 52, was legally prohibited from owning or possessing firearms, sheriff's officials said.
SPRING VALLEY, CA — A man was arrested after sheriff's deputies searched his East County home and discovered multiple illegal guns being assembled along with ammunition, authorities said.
Detectives served a search warrant Tuesday at a home in the 2800 block of Glen Canyon Circle in Spring Valley as part of an ongoing investigation into the manufacturing of un-serialized firearms, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.
The suspect, Jason Jefferson, 52, was at the residence during the search and was taken into custody without incident, sheriff's officials said. Detectives found an un-serialized short-barreled rifle, extended magazines for rifles and handguns, ammunition and additional firearm components in various stages of manufacture.

Jefferson was legally prohibited from owning or possessing firearms, officials said. He was booked into San Diego Central Jail on suspicion of multiple firearm-related charges.
The investigation was ongoing.
