Man Arrested In Series Of East County School Burglaries
Computers and electronic tablets were stolen from multiple schools in Alpine, Lakeside and Santee.
PINE VALLEY, CA — A man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a series of school burglaries in San Diego's East County.
There have been multiple break-ins and thefts from schools in Alpine, Lakeside and Santee, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. Computers and electronic tablets were stolen from the campuses.
Adam Megill, 18, was taken into custody in connection with the burglaries during a search of his home in the 7700 block of Calle De La Estrella in Pine Valley, sheriff's Sgt. John West said.

"Several stolen items and multiple items of evidence" were recovered during the search of Megill's home, West said.
"The suspect used a powder actuated nail gun to break windows and gain entry to the schools in most of the burglaries," West said.

Officials have not said which schools were targeted during the burglaries.
Megill was booked into San Diego Central Jail on suspicion of four counts of burglary and one count of receiving stolen property.
