Man Punches Driver, Steals Car In Santee

SANTEE, CA – Authorities released a sketch Wednesday of a man wanted for carjacking a man outside the Walmart in Santee and using his debit card.

The suspect punched the driver sitting in his car and threatened him with a military-style knife around 5 p.m. July 27 outside the Walmart on Town Center Parkway, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. The man tried to stab the driver several times, but the driver was able to get out of the car and leave the area. The suspect then drove away in the victim's car.

The car was recovered the next day in the Mid-City area of San Diego, according to sheriff's officials. The victim's debit card was used at fast food restaurants in the city of San Diego.

Anyone with information about this case or the identity of the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
