Man Who Needs Medication Reported Missing In Lakeside Area

LAKESIDE, CA — Authorities sought the public's help Friday in finding a missing man who needs "life-sustaining medication."

Jose Martinez, 68, was last seen around 9 p.m. Thursday at a care facility in the 12000 block of Royal Road in the Lakeside area, according to the San Diego Sheriff's Department.

"Martinez has several medical conditions and requires medication," said officials with the Lakeside Sheriff's Substation.

Martinez was described as Latino, 5-foot-7 and 143 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue baseball hat, a blue long sleeve shirt, blue sweatpants and white tennis shoes.

A Sheriff's Command Post was established at the Awaken Church at 950 North Second Ave. in El Cajon. The Sheriff's Search and Rescue Unit was also activated, and SAR volunteers searched the area overnight.
