LAKESIDE, CA — A man was killed over the weekend in a motorcycle crash on state Route 67 in eastern San Diego County, authorities said Monday.

The crash happened shortly after 6:30 a.m. Sunday on northbound SR-67 at Slaughterhouse Canyon Road in the Lakeside area, according to the California Highway Patrol. For reasons still under investigation, the rider of a 2022 Harley Davidson, a 65-year-old man from Yucca Valley, went off the roadway and struck a concrete curb.

The motorcyclist was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene, the CHP said. It was not immediately known if alcohol or drugs contributed to the cause of the crash.
