Motorcyclist Seriously Injured In Suspected DUI Crash With Truck In Santee
A bystander and deputies provided first aid and applied a tourniquet to the rider to control bleeding.
SANTEE, CA — A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a suspected DUI crash involving a pickup truck Monday afternoon in Santee, authorities said.
Deputies responded about 1:50 p.m. to reports that a pickup truck and a motorcycle had collided at North Magnolia Avenue and the on-ramp to state Routes 67, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.
When deputies arrived, they found the motorcyclist on an embankment next to the roadway with severe injuries, sheriff's officials said. A bystander and deputies provided first aid and applied a tourniquet to the rider to control bleeding.

The motorcyclist was then taken to a trauma center for treatment. The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene, and was evaluated and treated by paramedics.
Authorities said they believe that driving under the influence was a contributing factor in the crash.
