In August 2014, the old El Cajon carousel should come back to El Cajon, and would be called, the "El Cajon Reserve Historical Society Antique Carousel."
It started when Browning Amusement Company purchased it for Salem, Oregon. When the amusement park folded in the late 1960s it came to a west coast carnival circuit. In 1987, it was sold and moved to Seaside, Oregon. In 1991, it came to Parkway Plaza in El Cajon, California. After Parkway Plaza, it got relocated to Elyria, Ohio. It is now in storage.
The El Cajon Reserve Historical Society Antique Carousel would not only have the carousel, but would be like an indoor carousel park. Construction for the building should start in late June 2014. This carousel is a historic 1920s Allan Herschell 2 Row carousel from Brass Ring Carousel Co. Someone should purchase it before August 2014.
