Overnight Sobriety Checkpoint In Santee Nets 3 DUI Arrests

SANTEE, CA — Three motorists were arrested on suspicion of drunken driving during an overnight driver's license/sobriety checkpoint in Santee, authorities said Sunday.

The checkpoint occurred from 8 p.m. Saturday until 2 a.m. Sunday in the 8800 block North Magnolia Avenue, said Sgt. Lorenzo Ortiz of the San Diego County Sheriff's Santee station.

Fourteen motorists were cited for operating a vehicle while unlicensed or driving with a suspended or revoked license. Five vehicles were also impounded during the operation, said Ortiz, adding that 905 vehicles passed through the checkpoint.
