Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Car In El Cajon
The 28-year-old woman was taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where she later died.

EL CAJON, CA — A car fatally struck a pedestrian Monday in San Diego's East County, authorities said.
The 2016 Kia Soul hit the woman at 6:21 a.m. at the intersection of East Main Street and Roanoke Road in El Cajon, according to the El Cajon Police Department.
A patrol officer arrived and performed CPR on the unconscious woman before paramedics arrived at the scene, El Cajon police Lt. Darrin Forster said. The 28-year-old woman was taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where she later died. Her name was withheld pending family notification.

The driver of the car remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, Forster said.
"At this point in the investigation, alcohol or drugs are not suspected to be a factor in the collision," Forster said.
