Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Truck In East County
The man died at the scene, officials said.
EL CAJON, CA — A pedestrian was fatally struck by a truck in San Diego's East County, authorities said.
The crash happened at about 10:52 p.m. Thursday at 300 W. Chase Ave. in El Cajon, according to the El Cajon Police Department.
The man, who was between 50 to 60 years old, died at the scene, Lt. Darrin Forster said. The driver of the 2020 white Toyota Tacoma that struck the man remained at the scene and was "fully cooperative with the investigation."

"At this point in the investigation, alcohol or drugs are not suspected to be a factor in the collision," Forster said.
