Petco Party: West Hills Leaves Park With 8-1 Victory Over Valhalla

David Hesslink pitches a four-hitter against Grossmont Hills League opponent on MLB stage.

Senior left-hander David Hesslink pitched a complete game Friday night to lead West Hills High School over Valhalla 8-1 in a game where both teams were the visitors—and hundreds of friends and family made the trip from Santee.

It was at Petco Park.

Scoring two runs each in the second, third, fourth and sixth innings, the Wolf Pack [batting as visitors] held the Norsemen to only four hits in the final game of a prep trifecta at the home of the Padres.

U-T San Diego reported: “There are restrictions for all the [prep] Petco Park games—no infield or outfield practice before the game, no playing catch on the infield grass and no sunflower seeds.”
