Police Investigate Suspicious Death of Woman in Allied Gardens

San Diego police were initially summoned to the scene by a 911 caller.

San Diego, CA — The death of a woman Friday in Allied Gardens was deemed suspicious by police.

San Diego police Lt. Ray Valentin said someone called 911 just after 1:15 p.m. Friday to report that a woman was found not breathing at an apartment in the 7600 block of Mission Gorge Road.

"When officers/medics arrived on scene, they found an undetermined age/race female not breathing," Valentin said. "The female was pronounced dead by medics at the scene."

The San Diego Police Department Homicide Unit was called to the scene and is investigating the death, the cause of which remained had not been determined as of Friday evening.

Authorities were not able to immediately identify the woman.

"The County Medical Examiner’s Office will assist in the investigation by performing an autopsy to determine the cause of death and in determining the victim’s identity," Valentin said.
