Santee To Celebrate Nation's 250th Birthday With July 4 Event, Fireworks Show
"Santee Salutes - America 250" will feature live music, food vendors, a patriotic ceremony and a fireworks show.
SANTEE, CA — Santee will celebrate the nation's 250th birthday with live music, food and fireworks July 4 at Town Center Community Park East.
The event, "Santee Salutes - America 250," runs from 2 to 10 p.m. at 550 Park Center Drive.
A patriotic ceremony honoring the nation, military members, veterans and first responders is scheduled for 6 p.m. The band Those Guys will perform from 6:30 to 9 p.m., followed by a fireworks show at 9 p.m.

Food and dessert vendors will be available throughout the evening.
City officials encouraged attendees to carpool, walk, bike or use alternative transportation due to construction at the Santee Community Center and the temporary closure of the YMCA footbridge.

Parking must be purchased in advance. Additional parking will be available at Santana High School at 9915 Magnolia Ave.
Free shuttle service will run between the Costco parking lot at 101 Town Center Parkway and the event site from 3 to 11 p.m., with a break during the fireworks display. Shuttles will not operate from about 9 to 9:30 p.m. and cannot accommodate large items such as canopies, wagons, large coolers or wheelchairs, according to the city.
