Santee Lakes Fishing Report: 11 Pound Trout Caught

TROUT:

Last week was filled with great catches from the Day use and Campground Lakes.

Bob Grant of Spring Valley caught a whopping 11 lb. 2 oz. Trout in the day use off of Night Crawler & Power bait.

Webster Dilon caught a 6lb. as well as 3.5lb trout out of Lake 4 off of Power bait.

Landin Garrett-Clifton of El Cajon caught the creel limit of 5 fish with one trout weighing in at 4lb. and another weighing in at 3 lbs. Landin used Chartuse power bait with night crawlers at Lake 4.

Jacob Bingham of El Cajon caught a good size 5lb. 12oz. Trout out of Lake 3 off of power bait.

Local resident of Santee Sarah Heath filled her stringer with a total of 4 trout, with 2lb. 12oz. being the largest of the batch. Sarah caught these off of rainbow power bait on the east side of Lake 4.

Yet another trout over 5lbs. was caught out of Lake 4 by Larry Bethuwe using night crawlers. Larry’s catch weighed in at 5lb. 8oz.

8 year old Harli Thiem came camping this weekend with her family and caught a 2lb. 8oz. and a 2lb. 12oz. trout out of Lake 7 using power bait.

10 year old Christopher McMurray who was also staying in the campground caught 2 trout with the larger of the 2 weighing in at 3lbs. Christopher used power bait to catch his trout out of Camper Lake 6.

REMINDER!! – If you catch a trout that weighs 5lbs+ you are entered in our raffle that will be drawn at the end of Trout season April 1^st 2013 for a flat screen TV.
