Santee School Board Selects New Superintendent
Kristin Baranski currently serves as the district's director of curriculum and assessment.
SANTEE, CA – The Santee School Board has selected Kristin Baranski as Santee School District’s new superintendent. Baranski currently serves as the district’s director of curriculum and assessment.
“Kristin was selected as our finalist from an outstanding field of candidates, including sitting superintendents and assistant superintendents from across the nation,” school board president Barbara Ryan said in a press release. “Her credentials and 18 years of administrative experience in the district will be a tremendous asset in providing leadership as the district continues to grow and focus on supporting students and staff.”
Baranski started her career teaching language arts to seventh grade students in Schaumburg, Illinois. For Santee School District, she has served as vice principal of Chet F. Harritt, Rio Seco and Hill Creek schools. She was the principal of Chet F. Harritt School from 2000-2003.

Baranski is completing her doctoral studies in organizational leadership at Brandman University, Irvine. She holds a master’s degree in educational administration from National-Louis University and a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Southern Illinois University.
The board is expected to approve a contract with Baranski at its Dec. 20 meeting. Baranski will step in for Superintendent Cathy Pierce, who is retiring Feb. 1.
