Santee Seeks Donations For Camp Pendleton Marines Returning Home

Operation Rack Pack​​​ is ​a donation drive for the 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines from Camp Pendleton.​

SANTEE, CA — The city of Santee has launched a donation drive for Marines returning home from deployment.

Hosted by organization Operation Help A Hero, Operation Rack Pack is a donation drive for the 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines from Camp Pendleton.

"As the Marines return home from deployment in the next couple months they will be moving back into their barracks," the city said in an announcement. "The goal is to welcome home these heroes with gifts of gratitude and messages from the community letting them know our appreciation for their sacrifices."

The city is seeking thank you cards, as well as bar soap, deodorant, shaving cream, toothpaste, socks, T-shirts, phone charging cords, playing cards and water bottles.

The deadline to donate is 5 p.m. Oct. 23. The donation box is in the city's manager office in Building 1 of Santee City Hall at 10601 Magnolia Ave.
