Santee Senior Living Community To Open Pickleball Court, Host Free Community Barbecue

The public is invited to celebrate the new amenity with a free community barbecue and games.

SANTEE, CA — Lantern Crest Senior Living will unveil a new pickleball court April 29, inviting the public to celebrate with a free community barbecue and games, officials said.

The court will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a barbecue scheduled from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The event will also offer attendees a preview of the community's new Legacy buildings, the latest addition to the senior living community.

The new amenity is part of the Santee-based community's effort to promote an active and social lifestyle for residents, founder Michael Grant said.

"Lantern Crest Senior Resort Living is all about living life to the fullest," Grant said. "We want to continue offering and adding new amenities and experiences for our residents that make it feel like you are truly living in a resort every day. We can't wait to see our residents enjoy the new pickleball court, so here's to all the tournaments, friendships, and friendly competitions to come!"

The development includes 106 new residences in The Legacy expansion, designed to accommodate growing demand and provide additional housing options within the community. Pre-leasing is underway, according to the company.

Lantern Crest offers a range of amenities, including indoor and outdoor pools, fitness centers, a bowling alley, putting green, private dog parks, theaters, a chapel, libraries and salons, as well as daily programming such as fitness sessions, educational presentations, entertainment and social events.

Lantern Crest is located at 300 Lantern Crest Way in Santee.
