​Santee Woman Arrested On Domestic Violence Charge

SANTEE, CA — A woman was arrested this week on suspicion of assaulting her girlfriend at their Santee home, authorities said Thursday.

The alleged domestic violence was reported shortly after 9:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 8700 block of Graves Avenue, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies found a 24-year-old woman suffering from severe injuries, Lt. Chris Steffen said. The woman was taken to a hospital.

"Due to the severity of the injuries, the sheriff's Homicide Unit responded and has assumed responsibility of the investigation," Steffen said. "The name of the victim is known to investigators, however her name will not be released due to investigative reasons."

The victim's girlfriend, Brandi McCrystal, 16, was arrested Wednesday and booked into Las Colinas Detention and Reentry Facility on suspicion of felony domestic violence.

"The circumstances and motivation for this crime is currently under investigation," Steffen said.
