Santee's 'Pup-ular' Fido Fest Returning To Town Center Community Park

The eighth annual event will feature vendor booths, dog adoption opportunities​, demonstrations, giveaways and other activities.

SANTEE, CA — Santee's "pup-ular" Fido Fest is slated Saturday at Town Center Community Park East.

The eighth annual event will feature food and vendor booths, dog adoption opportunities, arts and crafts, an agility course, off-leash area, demonstrations, giveaways and other activities. There will also be dog costume, size and trick contests.

"Santee is proud to be a dog-friendly city, and we are thrilled to host an event where the community can enjoy all things dog-related," special events supervisor Becky Lowndes said. "The event is filled with exciting activities; make sure you get here early so you don't miss anything!"

In addition to the fun activities at Fido Fest, San Diego Humane Society will provide
microchipping and pet licensing services, with a copy of a rabies certificate. Microchipping will cost $10 and pet licensing prices will vary.

City staff will also collect donations of unopened dog food, bedding, blankets, new toys and other items for the rescue organizations that attend the event. Attendees can visit the city's information booth to drop off donations in exchange for an additional entry into the opportunity drawing.

Fido Fest will take place from 11 am. to 3 p.m. at Town Center Community Park East at 550 Park Center Drive in Santee.
