School District Employee Arrested On Child Sex Abuse Charges

Kent Cable, 55, worked in a non-teaching role at Lakeside Union School District, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.

LAKESIDE, CA — Authorities arrested a Lakeside Union School District employee on suspicion of multiple child sex abuse charges.

Kent Cable, 55, was arrested Sunday on suspicion of three counts of sexual penetration with a child 10 years of age or younger and four counts of lewd and lascivious acts on a child under 14 years of age.

The San Diego County Sheriff's Office announced Monday that on Sept. 8, 2025, they received information regarding sexual abuse allegations of a minor. Detectives working with the San Diego County Sheriff's Child Abuse Unit took over the investigation and conducted a follow-up.

After completing their investigation, detectives said they had probable cause to arrest Cable. He was booked into San Diego Central Jail.

Officials confirmed Cable worked in a non-teaching role at the district.
