Sex Offender Arrested For Child Porn Possession In East County: Police

EL CAJON, CA — A registered sex offender was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of possessing child pornography and drugs in San Diego's East County, authorities said.

Officers found Alexander Ingles, 37, sleeping in his vehicle around 2:50 a.m. in the 800 block of Broadway in El Cajon, according to the El Cajon Police Department.

"Ingles was found sleeping in his vehicle and was contacted for a vehicle code violation," Lt. Nick Sprecco said. "After learning Ingles was on probation, officers conducted a compliance search, and found graphic images of child pornography on his phone. Ingles also possessed a usable amount of methamphetamine."

Ingles, who is from Escondido and currently homeless, was on probation for possessing child pornography and drug sales, Sprecco said.

He was booked into San Diego County Jail on suspicion of multiple felony charges and violating his probation.
