SigAlert: Crash Blocks Lanes On SR-52

Authorities advised drivers to expect extended travel times and consider alternate routes.

SAN DIEGO, CA — A crash blocked multiple lanes on state Route 52 near Santee, prompting a SigAlert and heavy congestion during the morning commute, authorities said.

The crash was reported shortly before 7 a.m. on westbound SR-52, east of Summit, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Two lanes were blocked as crews investigated the crash and worked to clear the roadway, officials said.

Westbound traffic was heavily congested from Cuyamaca Street to Summit Avenue due to the crash. Drivers were advised to expect extended travel times and consider alternate routes.

The lane closures were expected to last about an hour, according to the CHP.
