Some Santee Streets Closed for Asphalt, Concrete Repair

Here's what you need to know about the road closures.

SANTEE, CA — A citywide pavement repair and rehabilitation program got underway this week on certain Santee roadways, the city advised.

No parking will be allowed on streets where the work involving removal and replacement of asphalt is being conducted. It takes two days to complete, according to city officials. The first day involves removing existing asphalt and placing the base course of asphalt. The second and final day includes placement of the final asphalt cap over the base course.

Here is the contractor's updated work schedule for the remainder of this week, according to the city of Santee:

  • Base course asphalt will be installed Wednesday on Mandeville to Domer and on Vomac from Wharton to Mast.
  • Finish course asphalt will be installed Thursday on Mandeville to Domer and on Vomac from Wharton to Mast.
  • Finish course asphalt will be installed Thursday on Mandeville Court from Mandeville Road to the end of Mandeville Road; on Doheny to the end of Doheny; and on Mandeville to Domer.
  • Concrete work was to be performed during the beginning Monday and for the entire week on Via Rita, Sappington, Via Debbie and Cardoza.
