Both vehicles became engulfed with flames because of the crash, according to the CHP.
LAKESIDE, CA — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash with a truck in San Diego's East County, authorities said Wednesday.
The crash happened at about 8:05 p.m. Tuesday on Winter Gardens Boulevard in Lakeside, according to the California Highway Patrol. A man was riding a 2005 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R southbound on Winter Gardens Boulevard, north of Lemon Crest Drive, when he crashed into the back of a 2013 Ford F-150.
"Due to the motorcycle's high rate of speed, he quickly approached the rear of the Ford and did not slow or stop in time to prevent a crash," Officer Jared Grieshaber said. "The motorcycle drove directly into the rear of the Ford. Both vehicles became engulfed with flames because of the crash."
