Suspect Sought After 2 Juveniles Wounded In Spring Valley Shooting

The suspect fired a 9mm handgun about four times into a crowd at an apartment complex, officials said.

SPRING VALLEY, CA — Authorities sought the public's help in identifying a man who wounded two juveniles after firing into a crowd at a Spring Valley apartment complex in September.

The shooting happened shortly before 1:30 a.m. on Sept. 21 in the courtyard of the Hidden Meadow Apartment complex in the 1600 block of Canyon Road, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.

The suspect fired a 9mm handgun about four times into the crowd and two juveniles were struck, officials said. Both victims were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

A bullet also entered a nearby apartment and struck a couch, officials said.

Surveillance video captured images of the suspect, who was described as a man wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and white sneakers.

Authorities asked anyone with information to contact the Rancho San Diego Sheriff's Station at 619-660-7090 or San Diego County Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477 or sdcrimestoppers.org. Tipsters may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a $1,000 reward.
