Trout Re-Opening Weekend Slated At Santee Lakes

SANTEE, CA — Trout Re-Opening Weekend returns this month at Santee Lakes.
The two-day event will take place from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15 through Sunday, Jan. 16.
"This is a great family-friendly outdoor event," event coordinator Greg Even said. "Whether you're an avid angler or fishing for the first time, we hope you give Santee Lakes a visit."

Roughly 2,500 pounds of rainbow trout will be stocked, with up to 8-pound fish in Lakes 2, 3 and 4, according to Santee Lakes.
The on-site restaurant, Tin Fish Santee Lakes, will open at 6 a.m. both days. The restaurant will offer grab-and-go burritos, pastries and the full drink menu at 6 a.m. The full breakfast menu will be available starting at 8 a.m.

Permits can be purchased in advance at the General Store. Permits cost $10 for adults and $6 for children and seniors. A second pole stamp costs $4. Gate entrance is $6 per car.
