SAN DIEGO, CA — Authorities Wednesday publicly identified a motorcyclist who died last weekend in a predawn hit-and-run crash in Lakeside.
Jordan Norman, 31, was riding to the north on state Route 67 shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday when the driver of an oncoming 1998 Mitsubishi SUV made a left turn against a red light at Willow Road directly in the path of the victim's 2016 Harley-Davidson, according to the county Medical Examiner's Office and California Highway Patrol.
The resulting collision left Norman, a San Marcos resident, with severe blunt-force injuries. He died at the scene.

Following the crash, the SUV veered off the street and crashed into a street-light pole, CHP public-affairs Officer Jasmine Lopez said. The unidentified man behind the wheel then got out of the vehicle and fled on foot, Lopez said.
The Highway Patrol spokeswoman declined to disclose whether a suspect in the case has been identified or arrested.
