Watch Teacher’s Golden Moment: First Pitch, Then Hugs at Petco Park
Billie Fogle, a veteran at West Hills High School, took the mound before the Wolf Pack game.
So how do you top being named by students the top teacher at West Hills High School?
For Billie Fogle, a 17-year veteran of the Santee campus, it might be taking center stage at Petco Park—home of the San Diego Padres.
Taking liberties with the mound—she was yards closer to home plate than regulation—Fogle threw the ceremonial first pitch in front of the Wolfpack game Friday night against Valhalla of El Cajon.

Calling herself “the cutest girl on campus,” Fogle—who teaches math, freshman English and U.S. history—wore a light-blue “I am West Hills” T-shirt to the downtown ballpark where Hall of Fame-bound reliever Trevor Hoffman starred for the Friars.
Said Fogle said before taking the field: “I hope I don’t show Trevor up.”
