Woman Injured In Shooting At Spring Valley House Party

The suspect or suspects fled before deputies arrived.

SPRING VALLEY, CA — A woman was injured in a shooting at a large house party in Spring Valley, authorities said.

Deputies responded shortly before midnight Friday to a report of a shooting in the 10000 block of Challenge Boulevard, where they found an adult woman suffering from a gunshot wound to her ankle, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.

The woman told deputies she was attending the party when she saw a fight in the street involving other attendees that escalated into gunfire. She was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The suspect or suspects fled before deputies arrived and have not been identified.

The investigation was ongoing. Deputies said there was no known threat to the community.
