The Saratoga Village Development Council hots its Witchy Walk-A-Bout 2-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27 in downtown Saratoga on Big Basin Way in the Saratoga Village. The Saratoga Gateway Businesses host their final event of the season, their monthly food truck extravaganza to raise funds for local nonprofits 4-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27 at 12341 Saratoga-Sunnyvale Rd. in Saratoga. Park behind the Alameda Family Funeral Home. This event benefits the Saratoga Chamber of Commerce and admission is free. Live music by KJ&M. House Family Vineyards will be open to the public 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27 at 13336 Old Oak Way in Saratoga. Come enjoy the beautiful fall colors over the valley. FORUM: FRAUDS AND SCAMS
The community is cordially invited to a panel discussion about elder fraud at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28 at Congregation Beth David, 19700 Prospect Rd. in Saratoga. Speakers include Santa Clara County District Attorney Jeff Rosen, Deputy District Attorney Janet Berry, with the Elder Fraud Unit, and Santa Clara County Deputy Sheriff Marc Lehmann. Topics addressed include scams that target the elderly and how to recognize them and what to do, tools and practices you can use to prevent being scammed, services available to the community regarding fraud and scams and ways to protect yourself, your senior family members and friends. Get in touch with local history by taking the Saratoga History Museum's historic landmark walking tour, bicycling the historic house tour or walking around the organization's historic garden with a self-guided tour 1-4 p.m. Friday-Sunday at 20450 Saratoga-Los Gatos Rd. The Saratoga Historical Foundation offers docent-led walking tours or you can download the tour and take a self-guided one. The docent-led tours last about 60 minutes with lots of easy walking. Meet your fellow “time travellers” and get some exercise at the same time.
