• 'Big Short' guru goes to war with California city over mass project in his backyard that could be deadly (nypost.com) — A controversial 25-home project on Pierce Road in Saratoga is facing a lawsuit from investor Michael Burry's nonprofit, which argues the hillside site in a high fire hazard zone could endanger residents. After Saratoga's Planning Commission initially rejected Masson Estates, the City Council unanimously approved it under state housing rules, prompting a court challenge and a hearing set for January 2027.
   

• Santa Clara Co.: Sheriff Asks Public's Help In Finding 85-Year-Old Woman (newsbreak.com) — Authorities are asking Saratoga-area residents to watch for an 85-year-old woman last seen Friday morning in southwest San Jose walking west toward Saratoga. She may have memory issues, walks with a cane, and is unfamiliar with the area. Anyone who spots her is urged to call 911 immediately to help bring her to safety.
