Hello, Everyone! Asya Here!

Hello there! I am Asya Rakova, a college student at San Jose State University and a student contributor for Saratoga and Los Gatos Patch sites.

Writing is one of my biggest hobbies and I aspire to make the field of music magazine journalism a career someday.

This is my first blog to introduce myself. I will be writing some stories, on occasion with photographs as I am a photographer as well.

I am very excited about this opportunity and feedback is always welcome.

A little about me. I was born in Russia and moved to the United States with my parents and younger sister when I was 4. I try to make a visit back to my homeland every year.

Traveling is a love of mine, and so is studying foreign languages, attending rock concerts, photography, and everything Japan.

I think it's important to watch out for others and yourself, to treat everyone with kindness and compassion, and to stay positive.

I decided first to go into journalism as well as blogging because of my passion for storytelling, being creative with writing, and having a lot to share with the world.

Whether it's family, friends, neighbors, or just about anyone else, I think that from sharing and communicating with each other, we learn very much about others, ourselves, and the world that we live in.
