Bradley J. Davis Named President of Saratoga's West Valley College

Bradley J. Davis, interim president of West Valley College, has been selected as the college’s next president, pending approval by the West Valley-Mission Community College District Board of Trustees on May 21.

Davis, who has served as interim president since June 2012, was selected from among three finalists after a nationwide search.

“I am passionate about West Valley College and I strongly believe in its potential and that our best days are ahead of us,” Davis said. "I envision continuing to partner with the community and leveraging that support as we revitalize the campus and curriculum.”

On Friday, May 3, the college posted on its Facebook page: "After a national search for a new WVC college president Interim President Brad Davis has been selected from the group of three finalists. Here's a recent video, featuring President Davis in full Viking gear, to get the word out about the Accreditation Site Team visit in March 2014."

As interim president, Davis has also maintained a high profile with students, an approach he plans to continue as president, the college said in a news release.

During his time as interim president, Davis cultivated the largest period of philanthropy in the college’s history, bringing in more fundraising to WVC in the past 12 months than the college received in the previous 10 years combined, the release stated.

Davis has worked for the two-college district since 2009, setting the strategy for the district’s advancement, communications and human resources operations as an associate vice chancellor prior to being named interim president, the release added.

Davis holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Gannon University and a Juris Doctorate from Syracuse University’s College of Law.
