Cop Pulls Driver In Nick Of Time From Oncoming Caltrain

Video shows officer's heroic effort dragging man from the tracks today in Sunnyvale.


An unoccupied vehicle on the tracks was struck a Caltrain this evening in Sunnyvale, according to Caltrain officials.

At 6:53 p.m. Caltrain tweeted that tracks had been shut down in both directions after northbound train No. 385 struck a vehicle at the Mary Avenue crossing, which is in Sunnyvale. Later, southbound train No. 274 struck the car.

Transit police are on the scene and a drunk driver may be responsible for the incident, according to Caltrain officials.

Trains will be single-tracking on the northbound tracks, but delays are expected. Further details were not immediately available.
