The passenger of a pickup truck who died Monday after the vehicle fell down an embankment outside of Los Gatos was 20-year-old Dakota Toy, according to the Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office.

The CHP reported that at about 3:30 a.m. Monday, Lambert was driving a 1998 GMC Sonoma pickup about 40 mph heading south on Alma Bridge Road north of Aldercroft Heights Road in unincorporated Santa Clara County about a half-mile east of state Highway 17.
He lost control of the vehicle, which veered to the right shoulder, struck a dirt berm at the top of an embankment on the west side and went down the embankment, CHP officials said.

A man later identified as Toy seated in the right front side of the pickup was ejected from an open passenger window onto the embankment and suffered fatal injuries, according to the CHP.
The truck continued down the embankment, overturned and came to a stop, CHP officials said.
Toy was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical responders. Lambert was transported to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries and was arrested later that morning, according to the CHP.
