Cupertino Businesses Listed on State’s Tax Scofflaw List
The state says two Cupertino businesses owe more than $1M in sales and user taxes.

California has released its list of Top 500 Sales and Use Tax Delinquencies.
Making the list of shame are two Cupertino businesses: Choo Cheon Chang, 10123 North Wolfe Road, Cupertino; and The Gunther Restaurant Group, Inc., dba Pizzeria Uno Restaurant and Cafe, 19930 Stevens Creek Blvd, Cupertino.
Choo Cheon Chang owes a little over $650,093 dating back to a first lien in January 2011. The Gunther Restaurant Group owes taxes dating back to August 2011.

According to the California Board of Equalization (BOE), businesses and individuals are notified before being placed on the list that they will be named publicly. Also, tax delinquents are not named “that are being addressed through payment arrangement, bankruptcy, litigation, or appeal.”
An unpaid tax bill has to top $100K before being added to the list.
