Fire Contained In Saratoga Living Room Causes $250k In Damages

A Saratoga home sustained about $250,000 in damage after a fire began in the living room Saturday evening.

SARATOGA - A Saratoga home sustained about $250,000 in damage after a fire began in the living room Saturday evening.

Firefighters with the Santa Clara County Fire Department responded at 7:52 p.m. to a report of smoke coming from a home in the 14000 block of Saratoga Avenue, fire officials said.

Upon arrival, crews saw heavy smoke coming from the first story of the home.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the living room and eventually extinguished it, according to fire officials.

At least one of the home's occupants was given medical treatment at the scene, fire officials said.

No other injuries were reported.

Although investigators determined the blaze began in the living room, they have not determined what caused it.
