Other facts
My wife, Amy, and I have been married 24 wonderful years. We have two beautiful children who are currently in college, Sarah rose, 21; and David, 19.
Sarah Rose is studying to become an elementary school teacher and is currently getting her masters in education from the University of San Francisco.
David is a junior at Syracuse University and is studying mechanical engineering. He was recently admitted to the Whitman School of Management, also at Syracuse, where he will start taking businesses courses in parallel with his engineering courses as he pursues an MBA.
Amy and I moved to Saratoga 20 years ago in 1992. However, Amy's family has lived in Saratoga since 1961.
I grew up in Palo Alto and graduated from Gunn High School. I am the youngest of three children born of immigrant parents who came to the US from Italy in 1956.
They started a small specialty desserts business in San Mateo in 1968 where each of us children worked until we went off to college. The shop is still in existence today. For the past 15 years I have been active in Saratoga volunteering on various community activities, nonprofit organizations, City Commissions and, most recently, the City Council.
I've also served as Board Member of:
- AYSO (American Youth Soccer Organization)
- Saratoga Soccer - Head League Commissioner‚ 1997 to 2008
- Member - Saratoga Rotary‚ 2005 to present
- Volunteer small business counselor and mentor with Silicon Valley SCORE
- Appointed to the Saratoga Planning Commission in 2005 and reappointed for a second term in 2009; chair 2008-2009
- Appointed to the Saratoga City Council in 2010 following the passing of our beloved City Councilwoman, Susie Nagpal
- Adjunct Business Professor‚ DeAnza College‚ April 2012 to present
- Council Liaison, Saratoga Chamber of Commerce
- Member, Santa Clara County Emergency Preparedness Council
- Member, Santa Clara County Housing and Community Development Advisory Council
I love Saratoga and am proud to have served as your City Councilman for the past two years. I value Saratoga's small town charm, great schools and quiet peaceful neighborhoods.
As your city leader, I promise to fight to maintain the high quality of life we enjoy and expect in Saratoga while keeping an open mind to intelligent changes that are consistent with our values yet strengthen our community.
